This is what green tea does to your skin

We all know by now that green tea is chock full of antioxidants.
But what do those polyphenols from green tea do for the skin?

They nourish, regenerate and protect our skin, they reduce wrinkles, redness and pigment spots and they regulate sebum production.
Result? The skin is radiant, supple and firm.
In other words, the antioxidants in green tea ensure that your skin ages less quickly.

Polyphenols
The active substances in green tea are polyphenols.
These substances protect against free radicals. Free radicals are an important cause of skin aging.
Our skin is exposed to all kinds of stress factors every day: UV light, environment, chemicals,...
All these factors cause oxidative stress. Oxidative stress can in turn contribute to premature skin aging in the form of wrinkles, loss of elasticity, dull complexion, pigment spots,...
Several studies have shown that the polyphenols in green tea help protect the skin against oxidative stress and therefore premature aging.

UV light and impure skin
UV light is one of the biggest culprits for the skin.
Drinking green tea protects against the harmful effects of UV radiation.
Green tea can also help people with acne and impure skin.
The antioxidants in green tea have a strong anti-inflammatory effect.
Green tea also stimulates collagen synthesis and helps the skin with better oxygen supply, resulting in healthy cells.
Did you know that green tea is the least processed tea ever?
